Warm greetings to everyone! I am Sowptika Pal, PhD final year student at VIT University, India. I have been studying the genomics of radiation resistant Bacillus isolated from the high background radiation area (ecologically a coastal region with heavy deposits of primordial radionuclides). It is my passion to work with microbes and learn more and more about their application for improving the environmental conditions and removing toxic and xenobiotic waste. Also improving the status of soil and making the land fertile for increased productivity. My interest lies in working with extreme microbes and bring out its benefits befitting for sustainable future and also advocate the importance of microbiology for common man to understand.
